About Us

Karen Stidd

Karen Stidd has been with Stanford University Grounds Services since 1985. She serves as Supervisor of Horticultural Support for the department. Karen has lived in California for most of her life, where she has pursued her lifelong interest in gardens and landscaping. Karen has a degree in Landscape Horticulture, is a Certified Arborist, and is a Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor. She is also an experienced landscape and irrigation designer. She holds degrees from Foothill College and the University of California at Berkeley. Prior to working in landscaping, she worked in the computer industry. At Stanford, she has combined her computer skills and her landscaping interest in such projects as the University's tree inventory database.
