Grounds Services Horticulture Class Completion

From February to November 2006, Grounds Services offered horticultural training for staff. This training was held both in the classroom and out in the field. The topics of the lessons included fundamentals of horticulture, soils and fertilizers, plant installation, turf management, irrigation, pruning, pest management, equipment and safety. Students are required to attend class regularly and to prepare outside of class by reviewing the information on their own and attending study groups as needed. Based on performance, certificates of achievement were awarded to students who successfully earn 80% or higher from the total points possible.

On March 7, 2007, we recognized the group of students who earned the Landscape Horticulture for Grounds Professionals certificates for completion of the 2006 program as shown in the following photo:
